Toddler Tourist by Hillary Handy
A Christmas 2025 calendar
of events in North Simcoe…
or, just do your own thing!
The Toddler Tourist and entourage adore everything merry, magical, and joyfully over-the-top. If there’s twinkle lights, hot cocoa, or an inflatable snowman involved, you can bet they’re ready with mittens on and snacks in hand. But as every parent knows, the holiday season has a way of filling up faster than a child’s wish list. Between parades, light displays, cookie swaps, craft fairs, tree lightings, and the endless rotation of “must-see” events, the calendar sometimes becomes its own festive frenzy.
And here’s the gentle truth: you don’t have to do all the things.
In fact, that’s where the magic really begins…when you intentionally choose the moments that matter most. Maybe it’s a quick stroll down the town’s twinkling main street, pointing out reindeer decorations. Perhaps it’s a matchy pajama drive to see neighbourhood light displays, complete with car snacks and holiday music on repeat. It could be a low-key gingerbread-house attempt (structural integrity not guaranteed) or a simple afternoon spent decorating sugar cookies with far too many sprinkles.
The season is full of possibilities big and small, and I am here to remind you that joy doesn’t need to be scheduled. Sometimes the coziest, most memorable festive moments happen when you slow down, follow a child’s curiosity, and let the holiday magic unfold in its own perfectly imperfect way.
But if you’re looking to add few, intentional outings and occasions to your social calendar, I have a few for you happening in our region. They are low cost, low risk but high reward, making your festive fun more manageable in an already-zany season:
Saturday, December 6
Get ready for holiday cheer at the Coldwater Santa Claus Parade! The parade will travel along Gray Street toward the Fairgrounds, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. Bring the family, enjoy the lights, and celebrate the season!
Saturday, December 13
The Warminster Santa Claus Parade is back this year! Starting at 2:00 p.m., Santa will make his way through town. The route is still being finalized, so keep an eye on What’s Up Warminster for all the festive details. Don’t miss the fun and holiday spirit!
Sunday, December 14
