There are so many family-friendly events around town this summer, you can find a lot of things to do without travelling too far.
Let’s start with the Coldwater Canadiana Museum
– a busy place this summer!
School Time – Wednesdays until the last week of August, children are invited to visit our single room schoolhouse where Miss Grace takes centre stage as schoolmistress.
Crafting Days – Thursdays until August 21 from 10 am to the afternoon.
Sell Your Stash Craft Day – Thursday August 21 from10 am – 3 pm.
Mark your calendar for this event where vendors will be selling vintage hand made crafts, crafting materials, putting on displays and giving demonstrations to help both the experienced and the uninitiated.
The Coldwater Heritage Mill is another really fun place to go, again with family-friendly activities. There is a lovely boutique, Coldwater Mill Museum and Artisan Boutique, which is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm for the summer.
A four-week Yoga course is being offered at the Mill on Wednesdays July 30, August 6, August 13 and August 20, 7-8 pm. This series is open to all levels and offers a nourishing blend of flowing, energizing, and calming poses.

For music lovers, Friday Night Live at the Mill starts again this August. Join us at the Musical Barn for this free, family event. All concerts run 7 – 9 pm. Support Local Talent!

Weekly Kids Programs at the Mill are held Tuesday afternoons, 1 – 2 pm until August 19. Kids ages 6-12 can enjoy crafts, stories and games, for free! Sign up at coldwatermillstaff@gmail.com
The Coldwater BIA has a number of exciting events planned for the summer.
The first Magical World of Faeries will be held on August 15, from 4 – 8 pm in Coldwater’s downtown. Enjoy wonder and whimsy with fairy performers, a fairy costume contest, hula hoop fairy and lessons, Scavenger hunt, Stories at the Library, watercolour workshops, vendor market, and much more!
Stick around for the annual Magical World of Witchcraft and Wizardry on August 16 as we celebrate all things relating to your favourite literary wizards and witches!
Coldwater Fall Fair is coming up September 26- 28 – entry forms are already available! Why not enter something? There are so many categories for all ages! If you want a midway pass, get yours early. They sell out quickly! There are a limited number and when they are gone, they are gone!
The Annual Witches Walk is October 17, 5-9 pm. Don’t forget, this is actually for adults! Kids will get their chance the next day at Trick or Treat Main Street, October 18, 10 am – 2 pm.
STEAMPUNK is back! Coldwater Steampunk and Oddity Days, returns on September 13, starting at 10 am.
And finally, the Library is currently holding our annual TD Summer Reading Program. This year, the program is expanded to include 32 kids, from JK to Grade 7. They will enjoy presentations by Scales Park, an astronomer, learn yoga, and take a trip to the Mill. Some of these are open to the public – check the Severn Township Public Library Facebook page for more information.
Also at the Library, there will be a Year One Kindergarten orientation in August. Contact the Library for details.
We have an excellent Fall lineup of authors coming to the Library- why not read their books before they come? Then you can ask some great questions! Please consider supporting our Canadian talent!

Late-breaking news!
Coldwater and District Curling Club just received from the Ontario Seniors Community Grant, $20225 to fund 85 FREE Yoga Sessions and 12 FREE Learn to Stick Curl Sessions. Also the Coldwater and District Curling Club received $200,000 for a new ice plant, which has been installed to operate for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. The curling club will be hosting the Ontario Wheelchair Curling Winter Curling Bonspiel. Congratulations to the curling club!
