Carley Hall Happenings

The frost is glistening on my willow tree out front and winter is slowly creeping towards our doors. The corn in the Carley Valley has been cut and the fall harvest is complete. Now we look forward to getting the winter tires on, pulling out the shovels and looking for all our winter wear.  The best part of this region is the change of seasons and how they transform so quickly , from falling leaves to falling snow.  

The Carley Community Hall has had a very busy fall season. We hosted an “Open House Social” for the community with ice cream and lemonade to welcome old neighbours and new. The Northern Jewels Cloggers provided entertainment, and a good day was had by all. We at the Hall are always looking for volunteers, so please send us an email and be a part of the fun.

The Hall was rented during the Thanksgiving weekend by the Images Tour, displaying wonderful works of art. 

The annual Christmas Craft Sale was another event at the Hall and it was a beehive of activity. The Carley Hall board and volunteers offered delicious soups and chilli.  If you wanted a dessert with a warm apple cider or coffee, it was available as well. The Hall was full of crafters inside and outside. So many beautiful items to purchase for Christmas presents, from knitting, jewellery, handcrafted wreaths and woodwork. Also, stained glass, preserves, wood crafted Christmas trees, cutting boards, candles, the list goes on. There was the Christmas spirit in the air and all our visitors were in a festive mood. A wonderful day full of community and joy! A big shout out to all our volunteers and crafters to making this another successful Christmas craft show.

We look forward to planning the year of 2025. Our first fundraising event will be in April, the Annual Pancake Breakfast. The Hall is always looking for programs to host at the Carley Hall.
