Carley Hall Autumn Update

by Kelly Skinner-Meyer

Hello readers, it’s been a wonderful summer and transition into fall. The colder temperatures and fall colours have arrived. I always love this time of year, the walks in the Carley Valley are peaceful and picturesque. The Carley Community Hall is idyllic in the fall.

Currently, the Carley Hall Board volunteers are busy planning our annual Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday,  November 1. We will be hosting over 10 crafters with a variety of items from wood working, knitting, homemade Christmas wreaths, stained glass, jewellery, and much more. The volunteers will also have a lunch available to purchase. So please mark the date on your calendar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 1st.

We still have dates available to rent the Hall in the upcoming months. Please let us know if you need a space for a celebration, baby shower, anniversary, special occasion. The cost is only $113.00 for the whole day, a new nominal insurance fee will be applied at the Township upon booking. Contact Oro-Medonte Township cchianelli@oro-medonte.ca to book the Hall for your next special event.

If you’re looking for a place to teach a yoga class, or any special talent you may have as a regular program, please think of the Carley Hall. We’re located at 396 Warminster Sideroad, Oro-Medonte. Ceck out our website www.Carleycommunityhall.com.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Douglas family.  It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Barb Douglas, at the age of 78. Barb leaves behind her husband Ron, son Craig and grandson Caelan. She will be sorely missed. No services will be held.

We hope to see you November 1st, until next time, enjoy this beautiful fall and visit the Carley Valley soon!

No art skills needed—just show up, be curious, and enjoy a welcoming space to be together, create, and laugh along the way.  Starting Thursday, October 30 at 10 a.m. to 12 noon for five successive weeks. Contact hawkestonehall@gmail.com for more information!

Our wonderful Hall Board of Directors will be holding the Hawkestone Hall Board AGM on Wednesday October 29 at 7 p.m. at the Hall. Please feel free to join us and find out how you can get involved!

Have some eyeglasses to re-cycle?  There is now a bin in the front lobby to drop them off as part of the Lions Club’s Recycle for Sight.

No matter how you choose to get involved—whether it’s joining a class, lending a hand, or simply dropping in for a friendly chat—your presence adds to the spirit that makes Hawkestone so special. Together, we’re not just filling a calendar; we’re building connections, friendships, and a community that truly feels like home. We look forward to seeing you at the Hall this fall!
