Fiddle Jam, Old Time Square Dance at Eady Hall

Most months have four Sundays and for many years, there have been old time jam dances held at various locations on those Sundays. When there was a month with five Sundays, there was usually no event for people to go to. Some fifth Sunday events did take place at the Longford Mills Community Hall, prior to Covid, but they, like other Sunday events, did not restart after Covid.

There was a fifth Sunday in September 2024, and the Eady Hall Board, motivated by their members Ralph and Sandy Price, decided to hold a Fifth Sunday jam/old time dance/square dance. It was designated as a “fundraiser” for the Hall, with all proceeds going to the Hall for maintenance and improvements. It was a successful day, with around 55 people coming to play, dance or just listen, and $350 was raised for the Hall.

March 30, 2025 is a Fifth Sunday and once again, the Eady Hall Board is organizing a fiddle jam/old time dance/square dance at the Hall on that date. The same as the last time, it is a fundraiser for the Hall with the proceeds going to the Hall for Hall use.

The Eady Community Hall is at 73 Eady Station Rd., which runs off Line 10 in Oro-Medonte, 7.2 kms North of Jarratt, which is on the Horseshoe Valley Rd.

The event is from 1:30 to 4:30 pm and admission is $7. There is no snack bar, but tea, coffee and water will be available.

FORMAT: Opening acoustic jam for all musicians. After opening: Signed in musicians play one or two tunes of choice. Dancing and square dancing and lots of it! If you don’t dance, please come and listen. Singers welcome, danceable tunes please.
