Eady News

My goodness, what a beautiful fall we have had this year! I do not ever recall a time when we have had absolutely no snow in the air or on the ground come the middle of November. We sure cannot complain about the weather this fall.
While the weather has been warm with such beautiful sunny fall days, it won’t be long, however, until Christmas once again, is upon us. The Hallmark movies have already started on TV, Christmas lights are beginning to light up the neighbourhoods, Christmas markets and bazaars are plentiful in the local area and many people have started their Christmas shopping, hoping to cash in on the many Black Friday deals that are abundant. And, wonderful aromas are filling up many of our kitchens as some are getting a jump on their Christmas baking!
Christmas always seems to be such a busy time as people are hustling about trying to get everything done before Christmas day…decorating their homes, shopping, wrapping presents, grocery shopping, baking, attending Christmas concerts and Christmas parties, and the list goes on and on with old traditions being carried out, and new traditions being made. I always get excited at this time of year with the thoughts of Christmas coming and think of all the wonderful Christmases that our family has had over the years.
While our Christmases have changed as our children have grown from babies into young adults, and some of our loved ones are no longer with us, we still have beautiful memories that make this time of year so special. And now, each Christmas we are able to make new memories with our families. I hope that you take some time this Christmas to remember the good memories of your past, and enjoy your time this Christmas making new memories!
This Christmas season, Christmas Eve services will be held on Tuesday, December 24 at St. George Anglican Church, Fairvalley (time yet to be confirmed), and at the Eady Wesley United Church at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend either service.
The Eady Hall board held a Fiddle/Square Dance Day fundraiser on Sunday, September 29, with proceeds going towards upkeep of the hall. It was a great afternoon of fiddle music (along with keyboard and some other great sounding instruments!) and lots of dancing. The afternoon was led by Ralph and Sandy Price. Keep your eyes peeled for details as we are planning another Fiddle/Square Dance Day at the end of March!
As a reminder, the Eady Community Hall is available for daily or weekly/ monthly recurring rentals. Our beautiful two-storey hall is a great venue for your birthday or anniversary party (when you have too many guests for your house!) It is also a great venue for teaching a class or workshop, or having a meeting or family dinner. Please contact eadycommunityhall@gmail.com for more information, or call Oro-Medonte Township at 705.487.2171, ext. 2133. We have very reasonable rates.
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas season and a Happy New Year! See you in 2025!
