Hawkestone Happenings
—by Rebecca Rodgers
As we reflect on 2024, the Hawkestone Hall team would like to thank everyone who made this past year so memorable. Our rich and diverse programming has strengthened our role as a true centre of community life. From lively special events, wellness sessions, recreation activities, music, arts, and entertainment, family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and more, it’s been a year filled with laughter, learning, and connection.
Looking ahead to 2025, we start with a special shout-out to our incredible volunteers who have worked tirelessly to maintain our skating rink—your dedication keeps the spirit of winter alive! We invite everyone to lace up for a Family Skate on Family Day – Monday, February 17 at 10 a.m. Enjoy a joyful morning on the ice with hot chocolate and cookies for all.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for some exciting upcoming events:
- Scales Nature Park Interactive Session for families on Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m. by donation—an engaging experience for all.
- Our Euchre Night and the ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt will be back soon—dates are still to be confirmed, so stay tuned by visiting our Facebook page and website.
And of course, planning is already well underway for our always fun Canada Day Event—a highlight of our summer season.
Join us for lots of regular programming, including CornHole, Yoga, NIA, Mindful Fitness, Sound Journeys, and more. We are proud to offer something for everyone, creating opportunities to connect, stay active, and enjoy all that our vibrant community has to offer.
As we look forward to a rewarding year ahead, we are reminded of the words of Margaret Wheatley:
“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”
Let’s continue to come together, share our passions, and build a stronger, more connected Hawkestone. Hope to see you soon!
