Three Pals Tales
and the Heart of Rescue
— by Megan Galati

Every Three Pals Tales story is rooted in compassion, learning lessons, standing up for those who need it most, adventure, and friendship — the list goes on. Author Megan Galati and the pals have always had a deep appreciation for helping others, whether it’s people or animals, and their latest experience brought all those themes to life in the most meaningful way: fostering two rescue puppies and witnessing firsthand the power of love.
A New Adventure Begins
After following the incredible work of Lost Boys Hope Dog Rescue, a local organization that rescues and rehomes dogs across Canada, Megan and the pals felt called to help. The rescue’s stories of resilience and recovery were both heartbreaking and inspiring, and soon the pals decided it was their turn to make a difference.
When the rescue transport arrived carrying two tiny travelers from Sandy Shore Reserve in Manitoba, the pals eagerly awaited their newest adventure. Out came a sweet little girl named S’more and her playful brother Nacho — both wide-eyed, curious, and ready for a second chance.
Lessons in Love and Letting Go
From the very first day, the pals’ world filled with puppy energy, laughter, and lessons. They learned the true meaning of responsibility, showing up each day with care and consistency. They discovered patience, as S’more and Nacho adapted to their new surroundings. They practiced cleanliness and training, realizing that love doesn’t just come in cuddles — it’s also found in routines, discipline, and time spent teaching.
Most importantly, they learned about care — how offering kindness and safety to another living being changes both hearts involved. With each passing week, the puppies grew stronger, happier, and more trusting, running freely on the pals’ three-acre property and learning what home truly feels like.
When it came time for S’more and Nacho to go to their forever homes, the goodbyes were filled with tears and gratitude. Hearing from their new families, knowing the pups were thriving and loved, made every moment worthwhile.
The Season of Giving Love
As the weather turns cold and winter settles in, the pals have come to believe that the greatest gift we can give — to a person or an animal — is love. A warm meal, a kind word, or a safe place to rest can mean the world to someone or something that needs it. Lending your love doesn’t have to be grand — sometimes it’s as simple as opening your heart for a short while and watching that love ripple outward.
Continuing the Story
This experience has deeply inspired the pals’ creative journey. They are currently hard at work on their fourth, top-secret book, set to be released next summer, and already planning their fifth, which will tell the story of their time fostering S’more and Nacho and their partnership with Lost Boys Hope Dog Rescue.
✨ To celebrate this journey and continue giving back, $1 from every book sold at this year’s winter events will be donated to Lost Boys Hope Dog Rescue — helping more dogs find their way home and reminding us all that the best gift you can give this season is love.
