Coldwater Communique

Coldwater is the place to visit during the summer! From its slow, relaxed winter pace, June launches the village into its bustling, energetic summer mode. From food to Christmas ornaments to crystals, shopping in Coldwater is an eclectic and fun enterprise. Hungry? Check out the eight restaurants ranging from coffee shops to a pub-style restaurant.
There are lots of things to do. For information on pickleball, yoga and a Tuesday charity Bikers’ BBQ, check out the calendar at https://calendar.severn.ca/
The Mill is a can’t miss destination. The quilts depicting Canadian Historic events, including Indigenous lore, are worth the trip. The totem pole and Musical Barn are ready to be explored, and the Musical Barn is the venue for concerts, every Saturday night until September 3.
The Cutest Lil’ Farmers’ Market is held every Friday until Thanksgiving from 3 to 7 pm in front of the Mill. Look for fresh baking, local produce, maple syrup and handmade crafts.
There is also a local Artisan Boutique held until September in the Mill. Find unique, unusual and practical articles for sale.
The Library is holding events for children during August. Bob Graham, storyteller, will be at the Library at 1 pm on August 7. Bob’s mystical stories of nature are riveting and will appeal to all ages.
August 10, also at the Library, come to the Teddy Bears’ Picnic at 11 am. Bring as many bears as you can keep track of! For all ages.
The BIA will be presenting some exciting events.
On August 17, come to the Wonderful World of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Perfect for all fans of the magical wizarding world. There will be lots of activities for kids. Come in costume!
August 17 is Coldwater Canadiana Craft & Trade Day at the Coldwater Canadiana Museum.
A Harvest Festival will be held on September 14, leading up to the Coldwater Fall Fair September 27 to 29, 2024. This is a super exciting weekend. Celebrate everything that Coldwater!
Moving into October, the annual Witches’ Walk is on October 18. Join with hundreds and maybe thousands of witches for food, drink and shopping. You can even join in the dancing. Ladies only, 19+. Sorry guys!
October 19 is Trick or Treat Main Street. Come and get your Hallowe’en candy from the merchants on Main Street. Everyone is welcome at this event!

Don’t forget to support your foodbank at Coldwater United Church, and the Caring Closet at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian church. Both churches provide rich and caring worship. You are always welcome.
