Eady News

Hello fall! Isn’t it amazing how quickly we can go from lovely hot summer weather to much cooler weather and much shorter days? You know that fall has arrived when the leaves start to fall, it is getting dark by 7:30, Fall Fairs are in full swing and the evenings start to get “crisp”! It makes one start to either be excited or to dread what lies ahead….I’m talking about that white fluffy stuff that falls from the sky!
The Fiddle Circle “Jams” have commenced once again at Eady Hall, having had a break over the summer months. The September circle had a good turnout with approximately 17 musicians in attendance. These are being held on the first Wednesday of the month, so the dates that currently are scheduled are Wednesday October 7, Wednesday November 4, and Wednesday December 2 from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you don’t play an instrument, we would still welcome you to come out for the afternoon to sit, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to the tunes of the piano player, fiddles and guitars. There might even be some spoons and perhaps some additional “not so common” instruments! Admission is $5 for both musicians and for listeners with proceeds going towards the upkeep of Eady Hall.
Also this fall, Chloe Mascarin of Clover Arts in Orillia is holding children’s creative art classes on Tuesday evenings from 5 – 7 p.m. at Eady Hall for ages 7 – 14. Various types of art including painting, sculpting, drawing, pastels, plasticine, and more! While the first group of classes have already started, Chloe is hoping to run additional classes throughout the fall and into December. So, if you interested in this for your child, please connect with Chloe at www.cloversarts.wixsite.com/creativeclasses/coldwater-kids for more information and to register.
Christmas is around the corner and what better way to engage in the season than attending an Old Tyme Eady Hall Community Christmas Concert! This year’s concert will be held on Saturday, December 13 beginning at 7 p.m. This is a concert for all ages so be sure to bring out the whole family and enjoy a night of fun! We also might be lucky enough to have a “special guest” arrive for the children! Also, if you or a member/s of your family has a talent that they would like to share with the community: singing, dancing, a recitation, a family skit, playing a musical instrument, etc., then we would love for you to be part of our program. Please let us know what you would like to do by calling Bonnie at 705-835-0006 or emailing Eadycommunityhall@gmail.com and give us your details. We hope everyone will join us for this fun-filled evening.
And don’t forget that if you or someone you know is looking for a place to host a baby or wedding shower, anniversary party, dance, classes, meeting or fundraising event, then the Eady Community Hall can accommodate you! The hall is available for one-time, or weekly/ monthly recurring rentals at very reasonable rates! For more information or to have a tour of our hall, please contact eadycommunityhall@gmail.com or call 705-835-0006 and speak with Bonnie.
I hope you are able to enjoy the beauty of the colours this fall in our communities, in our Township or wherever you may travel in our beautiful province!
