Digressions by D’reen
— by Doreen Uren Simmons
Before beginning to write this I checked the outdoor temperature. Wait for it…19 degrees Celsius! Now that helps put me in a good mood. I need help? Why? Well, sometimes the ‘old age’ thing gets a bit tiresome. Like this morning’s 90 minute wait for blood work that took 2 minutes. This, in preparation for an eventual scan to have a look at a ‘minor aberration’. Sometimes it just seems to go on and on! Maybe you won’t understand if you’re not old!
And I do realize that these are indeed minor problems. You only have to look at the so-called United States of America to see that. But that won’t put you in a good mood either, eh? There are lots of ‘explanations’ for the horror of Trump but are there any solutions? Where are the Democrats? One can only hope that there are enough Judges to rescind the outlandish actions of the evil insane one. And that the People Will Rise Again.
Meanwhile spring is coming. Snowdrops on the front lawn and a lake in the back. Buds on the trees, daffs and tulips creeping up. It seems like a miracle, this year especially. We actually MADE it! And no mechanized snow removal necessary. It just actually, eventually, melted. Maybe Trump will too.
Forgive this unusual tirade please dear readers. These are unusual times to be borne. And I will. I am actually strong, living a generally good life and mostly, loving. And if I can’t love I can still laugh…the best medicine…better than ‘blood work’!
See you in the summer, in which I still believe. AND…I just went outside on an errand with No Coat and the car window DOWN! WEEEE!!! Love, D’reen
