2026 Municipal and School Board Elections Information

To stay up-to-date on all election related information including candidate resources, voting method, Voter Help Centre locations, dates and times, please visit  Elections | Township of Oro-Medonte.

To confirm that you are on the voters’ list, please visit Voters List – VoterServices or register directly with the Township by calling 705-487-4029, email at elections@oro-medonte.ca, in person at the Township Administration Centre located at 148 Line 7 South any time, Simcoe Woods Community Centre located at 737 Horseshoe Valley Rd. West when open during the voting period, or by regular mail addressed to Clerk, Township of Oro-Medonte, 148 Line 7 South, Oro-Medonte, ON, L0L 2E0. Please include telephone or e-mail address to ensure timely responses from election staff.

Internet/Telephone Voting are the voting methods being used by the Township for the 2026 Municipal Elections. (Please Note: there will be no paper ballots this election).

The “voting period” will run from Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.

While we encourage Voter’s to take full advantage of the ability to vote from anywhere, including the comfort of their own homes, Voter Help Centres will be open during the voting period for those eligible electors who have not received a Voter Information Letter (VIL) prior to the start of the voting period, and need to register to vote, or for those electors who may require assistance, or wish to cast their electronic vote in-person.

    from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 15, 2026

  • Monday, October 26, 2026
    on Election Day from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Simcoe Woods Community Centre

Remember, you can vote online or by telephone during the voting period from October 14–26, 2026. Make your vote count in the Municipal and School Board Trustee election this October.

Council Meeting Schedule

Regularly scheduled Meetings of Council for the months of October and November 2026 will take place on the following dates: 

Council Meetings:
Tuesday, October 13th – 2:00 p.m. Public Session
Thursday, November 12th – 3:00 p.m. Public Session 

Development Services Committee Meetings:
Wednesday, October 7th – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 4th – 5:30 p.m.

Please Note:  Township Council Chambers are open to the public. To ensure safety of the public, members of Council, and staff, room capacity limits are in place. 

Virtual attendance is available, with Council meetings following a hybrid format and continued live-streaming. Members of the public are welcome to view Special Council and Development Services Committee Meetings via livestream on the Township’s YouTube channel.

Public Participation in Electronic Meetings

The Township of Oro-Medonte’s Procedural By-law allows for electronic participation at Council meetings. Protocols have been established to advise how to participate in the public portions of these meetings.  Please visit Council | Township of Oro-Medonte for more information, including how to participate in Open Forum or request a deputation/presentation.

Fall Recreation Programs and Registration

Registration is open for a variety of new and fun recreation programs suitable for all ages. Program options include sports, dance, arts, fitness, seniors’ programs, PA Days and holiday breaks, play club, and more. The Township is also offering a variety of drop-in fitness and gymnasium programs allowing flexibility with your schedule. Please see the 2026 Fall Recreation Guide and follow the Community Services division @playoromedonte to stay up-to-date.

Public Skating Update

We have updated our public skating schedules, fees, and participation requirements. Before heading to the arena, please visit oro-medonte.ca/iceskating for full details and up-to-date information.

Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award

Oro-Medonte Council and Staff are very proud to announce that the Township has been recognized by Public Safety Canada, as a recipient of the Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award (EMESA) for our response to the late March/early April 2025 ice storm. Township and County of Simcoe Partnership Regarding Paramedic/Ambulance Services in Oro-Medonte

The Township and County of Simcoe are pleased to begin a new partnership that provides a County of Simcoe Paramedic Services ambulance in Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services Fire Station #2 located in East Oro, at 529 Line 11 North. For details, please visit oromedonte.ca/AmbulancePartnership.

Streetlight Information

With the arrival of fall, daylight hours will shorten.  Streetlights are controlled by an individual photocell that turns lights on and off based on light levels – streetlights turn on when it gets dark, and off when it gets light.  If a streetlight is out on your street, please report the streetlight that is not working to the Environmental Services department at 705-487-2171. Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services is on Linktree

Please scan the QR code to join Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services (OMFES) on Linktree. You will find important and helpful information including: volunteer firefighter recruitment, fire prevention, public education, events, and community updates. This is a great way to stay connected and safe in Oro-Medonte.

Water Bill Payments

Water usage is billed quarterly, with payment due dates falling on the last business day of February, May, August, and November. Please note the third quarterly water bill payment for 2026 is due by Friday, November 27th.

Additional Payment Option

The Township is pleased to offer an additional payment option by credit card, Interac e-transfer, and in-person at a post office using cash or debit. This service is being offered through PaySimply.ca, a secure, third party Canadian payment provider. All fees are paid directly to PaySimply.  Please note the Township does not retain any portion of the fee. You will be notified of the fee amount prior to your payment being processed. You will also receive an email confirmation of your transaction including fees paid.

E-billing Option for Tax and Utility Account Bills

Upcoming Office Closures

The Township Administration Centre will be closed on the following days:

  • Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving
  • Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Remembrance Day

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30 a.m. following each closure.
