Here’s to Summer!
Since our last issue, I have been buzzing around the province and beyond, doing just that. From camping trips to visits to friends and family in Toronto, Guelph, Quebec, and more, I have been enjoying all the summer has to offer…which is a lot.
We are so blessed in this wonderful country, to have such beautiful places to enjoy summer in.
We just finished a highlight of the summer for our family: an extended weekend sharing a rented cottage together with adult kids and my son-in-law. We started this just before the pandemic and it’s awesome.
We were a family who grew up with cottages, but circumstances change and now there are no owned cottages in the family any more. So, we started renting them, mainly through AirBnB.
It’s a great way to see different parts of cottage country, try out different kinds of cottages…and of course the best part is spending time together…precious and rarer than it used to be, as everyone has their own lives and activities filling their days.
We filled the weekend with fun in and on the water, making and eating meals together, hanging out talking and laughing, having campfires, doing a crossword, playing an ANCIENT version of Trivial Pursuit…which I remembered owning as a 17-year-old!…and mainly making awesome memories together. It was perfect.
This issue is full of summer fun, summer events, sunshine, and joy. We hope the rest of your summer is full of all that too!
Here’s to the second half of summer, and a wonderful start to fall as well.
Thanks for being part of our community.
