On April 24, 2026, the historic Gordon Lightfoot Stage at the Orillia Opera House will come to life for one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events: Showcase 2026: A Night to Ignite the Arts. More than an event, it is an investment in imagination, belonging, and possibility for every young person in our region.
Join us as we ignite the arts and celebrate creativity’s powerful role in shaping our shared future.
Building on last year’s sold-out debut, Showcase 2026 once again invites guests onto centre stage for a rare behind-the-scenes experience. Imagine dining on the Lightfoot Stage under the theatre lights, surrounded by the energy of young performers and professional artists. This is where artistry unfolds, stories come to life, and the community gathers to invest in the next generation.
A Night Unlike Any Other
While many galas offer elegance, Showcase 2026 offers immersion. Guests step directly into the creative world—dining onstage, watching performances only metres away, and gaining a unique vantage point into the artistic process. Youth and professional artists share the spotlight, performing works inspired by lived experience, culture, and community.
This year’s theme—A Night to Ignite the Arts—captures the spark that arises when people unite around creativity. It celebrates imagination and the extraordinary potential of young people across Simcoe County.
Fueling Youth Creativity All Year Long
Behind this unforgettable night lies a powerful mission. Arts Orillia provides high-quality arts education, cultural programming, and mentorship to more than 1,000 youth each year through festivals, workshops, school residencies, and free after-school programs. The numbers tell an important story:
- 360 students participate annually in Global Steps in-class workshops.
- 650 youth experience Gathering: Festival of First Nations Stories.
- 75 young musicians perform in the Orillia Jazz Festival.
- Vulnerable youth access the Creative Youth Lab, a free after-school digital arts program.
These are opportunities young people simply would not have without community support.
The impact is deeply personal. One Grade 6 student shared, “Arts Orillia puts people on stage who look like me—no one else does that here.” Another participant said, “When I take classes with Kate, I feel so free and happy.” These moments capture the heart of Arts Orillia’s work: belonging, confidence, and representation.
Creativity That Changes Lives
Research from UNESCO and the World Health Organization reinforces what the community already knows: arts engagement strengthens resilience, empathy, emotional regulation, and academic performance. Youth who participate in arts programming experience greater social connection and improved well-being—benefits that are especially meaningful for those facing barriers.
Arts Orillia’s programs are intentionally designed to build these developmental strengths. Through curriculum-aligned initiatives such as Global Steps, Water Monument, and Inventing Utopia, students develop cultural understanding, environmental awareness, and creative problem-solving. Through the Creative Youth Lab, they explore digital art, storytelling, and media in a supportive, mentorship-driven environment.
Showcase directly fuels this year-round work, ensuring that every young person—regardless of background, income, or identity—can access transformative creative opportunities.
Celebrating the Partners Who Ignite the Arts
Arts Orillia is proud to honour the community leaders who make Showcase 2026 possible. This year’s early sponsors reflect the region’s commitment to youth, creativity, and community impact:
McLean & Dickey Insurance
A longstanding community leader supporting inclusive youth arts programming.
Harvey’s Orillia
A dedicated restaurant partner championing local causes and youth initiatives.
HGR Graham Partners LLP
A trusted regional law firm investing in youth empowerment and arts education.
North Simcoe Life
A media partner amplifying local stories and youth voices.
The OtherHalf Consultants Inc.
A champion of values-based leadership, sustainability, and community-driven impact.
These partners help light the way for young people across Simcoe County, ensuring the continuation of free and low-cost arts programs, meaningful artist mentorships, and innovative youth-led creations.
Why Businesses Are Getting Involved
Corporate sponsors are increasingly aligning with Showcase for its measurable social return. Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $5,000 and offer high visibility through on-stage recognition, social media features, and—for top-tier tiers—a custom “Why We Support the Arts” spotlight video.
For companies seeking meaningful community investment, the case is compelling. Independent research shows that every dollar invested in the arts generates significant local economic impact, supports jobs, and contributes to community well-being. As one of Orillia’s most distinctive experiential events, Showcase also offers sponsors a rare opportunity to place their brand centre stage—literally—aligning with creativity, youth empowerment, inclusion, and cultural vibrancy.
Join the Night That Sparks Change
Whether attending individually, hosting a table, or becoming a sponsor, Showcase 2026 guests play a vital role in shaping the future of youth arts in Simcoe County. Last year sold out—quickly—, and with demand already rising, seats and tables are expected to fill quickly.
One stage. One night. Infinite impact.
