The Good Lovelies
The rich complexity of life is the emotional focus of their much-anticipated new album, We Will Never Be the Same.
The album is both a return to a more elemental, acoustic-based musical platform reaching back to the early days of the Good Lovelies, as well as an immersive emotional experience crafted by three seasoned songwriters who bring their own real-life stories in all their dynamism and messy complexity to the fore.
It is a testament not only to their artistry, but also their humanity, and is an album that will continue to endear this beloved group to fans of all ages.
The Good Lovelies are: Caroline Brooks: Vocals, Acoustic and Electric Guitars; Kerri Ough: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Keyboard; Susan Passmore: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Percussion, Keyboard
Zachary Lucky
Zachary Lucky is a Canadian songwriter, folk and Country artist who started his career in Saskatoon and now resides in Orillia. Prior to starting his solo career in 2009, Lucky was a member of pop bands Tuxedo Mask and We Were Lovers. “With his rugged voice and rural leanings, Lucky is channeling old-fashioned values and a country-folk classic style.”
At Mariposa House Hospice, our goal is to “honour every moment of life” one person at a time. We provide high quality end-of-life palliative care to those who need our support. Our service area focuses on Severn, Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Ramara, and Chippewas of Rama First Nation. Each resident receives the care and emotional support they need in a comfortable, safe, homelike environment. While we receive some funding from the Province of Ontario, the bulk of our operating costs come through donations and fundraising events such as the Autumn Concert.
The proceeds of this event will directly support The Mariposa House Hospice “Cuddle Bed” Campaign. Beds are core to our services here at Mariposa House Hospice. We have launched a campaign to replace our second hand, donated beds with “Cuddle Beds.” The expandable design of these beds allows 2 people to lay side-by-side and maintain physical contact with family and loved ones at end of life. Each Cuddle Bed costs approximately $30,000 and our goal is to replace all 5 beds.
