Orillia Horticultural Society Updates
by Pamela Paylor
The Orillia Horticultural Society was first established in 1888, and we have been working to beautify the community and educate fellow gardeners ever since. We support programs for all ages encouraging gardening, community beautification, environmental enhancement, and conservation.
We accept all types of gardeners – no experience required. We have informative guest speakers and various workshops along with Flower and Photography shows. Look for our volunteers to distribute the Garden Pride door hangers acknowledging beautiful gardens throughout town. We maintain the Library Gardens and the Hospice Gardens and are working with our partner Mariposa Pollinators to establish new Pollinator Gardens with Native Plants. Come and join us for learning and fun!
The Orillia Horticultural Society holds its meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in March, April, May, June, September, October and November (TBD). July and August are outdoor meetings in various locations. Our new monthly meeting location is the Orillia Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion at 215 Mississaga St E., a fully accessible, scent free location.
There are just two meetings left in 2025, come see what we are all about!
