Council Meeting Schedule

Regularly scheduled Meetings of Council for the months of June and July 2025 will take place on the following dates: 

Council Meetings:
Wednesday, June 10th – 3:00 p.m. Public Session
Wednesday, June 24th – 3:00 p.m. Public Session
Wednesday, July 15th – 3:00 p.m. Public Session 

Development Services Committee Meetings:
Wednesday, June 3rd – 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 2nd – 5:30 p.m.

Please Note:  Township Council Chambers are open to the public. To ensure safety of the public, members of Council, and staff, room capacity limits are in place. 

Virtual attendance is available, with Council meetings following a hybrid format and continued live-streaming. Members of the public are welcome to view Special Council and Development Services Committee Meetings via livestream on the Township’s YouTube channel. 

Public Participation in Electronic Meetings

The Township of Oro-Medonte’s Procedural By-law allows for electronic participation at Council meetings. Protocols have been established to advise how to participate in the public portions of these meetings.  Please visit Council | Township of Oro-Medonte for more information, including how to participate in Open Forum or request a deputation/presentation.

2026 Municipal and School Board Election Information

Nominations for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election run from May 1st until August 21st, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. For all election related information including candidate resources, voting method, and Voter Help Centre locations, and to stay up-to-date, please visit  Elections | Township of Oro-Medonte.

  • Vote online or by phone during the voting period from October 14th–26th

Internet/Telephone Voting are the voting methods being used by the Township for the 2026 Municipal Election. (Please Note: there will be no paper ballots this election).

The “voting period” will run from Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. While we encourage Voter’s to take full advantage of the ability to vote from anywhere, including the comfort of their own homes, Voter Help Centres will be open during the voting period for those eligible electors who have not received a Voter Information Letter (VIL) prior to the start of the voting period, and need to register to vote, or for those electors who may require assistance or wish to cast their electronic vote in-person. Voter Help Centres dates and times of operation are as follows:

  • Weekdays from October 14 to 23, 2026
    from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 15
    from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Spring/Summer Recreation Programs and Registration

The Township is offering a variety of programs for pre-school, children, youth, adults, and seniors; along with fitness classes, drop-in options, course and certificate programs in partnership with St. John Ambulance, and specialty camps. June is Recreation & Parks Month – Complimentary Recreation Program Offerings

June is Recreation & Parks month. The Township is offering Oro-Medonte residents the opportunity to participate in recreation programs throughout the month of June, free of charge. For complete details, please see pages 24-27 in the 2026 Spring/Summer Recreation Guide.

The Community Services division has launched an Instagram channel with a dedicated focus on recreation programs and activities. To stay up-to-date on exciting new program options, specialty camps, drop-in schedule updates, course and workshop offerings, facility rental availability etc., please follow instagram.com/playoromedonte.

2026 Digital Parking Permits

Oro-Medonte residents are eligible for two (2) free digital parking permits. Please note each vehicle requires completion of a parking permit application form (one application per vehicle.) After completing the application, a confirmation e-mail will be sent with your parking permit. Open Air Burn Permits

In accordance with the Township’s Fees and Charges By-law No. 2024-094, please note there is a $10.00 fee for all Open Air Burn Permits. The fee may be paid online by visiting Burn Permits – Township of Oro-Medonte or in person at the Administration Centre. Fireworks Information

The Township of Oro-Medonte regulates the sale and discharge of fireworks. A permit is required to set off fireworks, and is available for purchase at the Township Administration Centre located at 148 Line 7 South.  

A permit is not required when setting consumer fireworks off on Victoria Day, Canada Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Consumer fireworks being displayed on any day of the year shall only be set off between dusk and 11:00 p.m., except for New Year’s Eve where fireworks are permitted until 1:00 a.m.

Please Note: In addition to the required permit, individuals must hold a valid certificate issued by the Explosives Regulatory Division of Natural Resources Canada.

E-billing Option for Tax and Utility Account Bills

The Township is pleased to offer Oro-Medonte residents the option to receive tax and utility account bills by e-mail. To sign up for e-billing with delivery to your inbox, please visit Paperless E-Billing Sign-up Form – Township of Oro-Medonte.

Spring Construction Season

With the arrival of spring, construction projects throughout the Township have begun and/or increased in activity. Whether it’s a residential, commercial, or recreational project, for your safety, the safety of children, and construction crews, a reminder to please stay away from construction sites. On behalf of construction project teams, thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

2026 Property Tax and Water Bill Due Dates

Property Taxes
Property taxes are calculated annually by applying Council’s approved tax rates to property assessment values as provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). Tax rates include Township, County, and education taxes. Payment for property taxes is due in four installments on the last business day of February, April, July and September respectively.

Water Bills
Water usage is billed quarterly, with payment due dates falling on the last business day of February, May, August, and November.

Additional Payment Option
The Township is pleased to offer an additional payment option by credit card, Interac e-transfer, in-person at a post office using cash or debit, and PayPal. This service is being offered through PaySimply.ca, a secure, third party Canadian payment provider. All fees are paid directly to PaySimply.  Please note the Township does not retain any portion of the fee. You will be notified of the fee amount prior to your payment being processed. You will also receive an email confirmation of your transaction including fees paid.

County of Simcoe 2026 Bursary Program

Through the County of Simcoe’s long-standing Education Bursary Program, twenty-one (21) bursaries valued at $3,000 each are available to County of Simcoe students attending a post-secondary institution in Canada. One (1) bursary is guaranteed for a resident of each of the County of Simcoe’s 16 member municipalities.

Bursaries are available to full-time and part-time Simcoe County students entering any year of a post-secondary education program in Canada. Students from all 16 of the County of Simcoe’s member municipalities are eligible to apply. The application deadline is Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Upcoming Office Closures

The Township Administration Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1st in recognition of Canada Day.  Regular business hours will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 2nd.
