The day this issue goes live is Canada’s National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. And two weeks later, it’s Canadian Thanksgiving.
Summer is over, but there are still some lovely days left. Winter is coming, and that can be cold and grey…
Fall certainly is a juxtaposition of emotions for those of us living here, and in the rest of Canada.
Sad/happy, thankful/regretful, looking forward/looking back.
Please read our two columns about truth and reconciliation, Sustainable Simcoe North, and The Medicine Walk, with open hearts and thoughtful minds.
Then, as author Madeleine Fournier says, ask yourself, what steps will you take?
Let’s move forward hand-in-hand with our Indigenous brothers, sisters, and neighbours. Think about what we can do, then find out from them if it’s a good idea. Let’s get on the same page and paddle the same canoe.
Then, we can be thankful together.
Have a wonderful fall. Don’t forget to enter our Fall Contest. Don’t forget to support the businesses, events, and volunteers that are showcased in this issue. We are community…all of us!
