Dogs & Dogs

Dino the Texas Heeler

Hello! I’m Dino. I am two years old and I am a Texas Heeler. This means that I am a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd. I am red and white. My fur is unique because it has freckles. Most Australian Cattle Dogs have pointy ears, but mine are floppy because of my Australian Shepherd.

Did you know that Australian Cattle Dogs are part Wild Dingo? I think that might be where all my energy and excitement comes from. Texas Heelers are known for being whip smart, athletic, loyal, sneaky, and hardworking.

One thing I will work hard for is food. I love treats, whether they are in the garbage, from mom’s hand for a nice sit, or the occasional sneak from a plate at the table. Kibble is good, but it’s standard pay. Meals are required and I deserve a bonus here and there.

I guard the window to make sure no one goes on the lawn. I guard the backyard from squirrels. I bark to passing dog friends to let them know this is my house. I try to protect us all from the vacuum cleaner and its companions: the broom and mop. Not to mention, I am a great snuggler and give plenty of kisses. My mom always says I’m the handsomest boy. I follow her everywhere she goes. It’s hard work to be me. So, you’ll have to excuse me for waiting by the fridge for my cheese, my cucumber, my blueberries, my carrots, and my turkey.
Don’t worry though, I work it all off. I go for lots of walks, and I love to run around. All this energy needs exercise. Let me tell you some of my favourite things to do. I love to sniff and roll in the grass. I like this because I can smell the scents other dogs have left behind. I roll in the grass to leave my scent, while also picking up theirs.

I enjoy fetching sticks that my humans throw for me. I have a collection of all my favourite ones. I love to play with my ball and chase it around. When I am at daycare and the dog park, I love to round up my dog friends. I do this by greeting them and running in a circle. This gets them riled up so they are in the mood to chase me. I love to show off how fast I run.

Another thing I love is my people. Once I am your friend, I am your friend forever. I will protect you. I will make you laugh. I will play with you until we are tired. I will sleep beside you just to be close. I hope we can be friends.

My mom is my best friend. Her name is Angela. She owns a dog walking business called Dogs and Dogs. She offers walks, check-ins and hangouts for dogs who need extended visits. She’s my mom, but I can share. She loves dogs and she would be delighted for you to contact her if you are an interested dog owner. Contact information-
