As we continue through the year, I want to take a moment to share some positive updates and thank the residents of Simcoe North for their ongoing commitment to making our communities strong, welcoming, and resilient.
It has been a busy and productive time across the region, with important investments being made to support local infrastructure, emergency preparedness, and future growth. I was pleased to announce that Ontario is investing more than $78 million in critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Simcoe North. These upgrades will help communities such as Orillia, Penetanguishene, Tay Township, Tiny Township, Ramara, and Severn strengthen essential services, support housing development, and prepare for future growth.
I was also proud to announce funding through Ontario’s Community Emergency Preparedness Grant program, providing support for municipalities and organizations across Simcoe North. These investments will help strengthen local emergency readiness through equipment upgrades, training opportunities, and initiatives that enhance community resilience.
These projects are about more than infrastructure and equipment. They are investments in the future of our communities, helping ensure that residents have access to reliable services, safe neighbourhoods, and opportunities for continued growth and prosperity
I also look forward to welcoming residents to the rescheduled Annual Simcoe North Community BBQ on Sunday, September 13, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hewitt’s Fun Farm in Coldwater. While we were disappointed to postpone the event due to inclement weather, we are excited to come together this September for an afternoon of great conversation, community spirit, and family-friendly fun. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends, neighbours, and residents from across Simcoe North, and I look forward to seeing everyone there.
