Warminster Write-Up

We are in the thick of it with summer mode in Warminster! It is a joy to see the scooter gang out and about, kids playing at the park, and neighbours walking around the block, chatting with one another.

It has been so exciting to see all the action at the newly completed XBHL facility. All ages have been playing and it has been such a blessing to the community. The indoor space is so luxurious, complete with mini-snack bar.

There has been lots going on in the neighborhood as of late. Here is a brief recap of events:

• The Warminster Elementary School Fun Fair was a great success! Everyone had lots of fun playing at the different games and stations, which included a Prize Table and Stuffie Adoption Centre. We also loved having the Oro-Medonte team bring a plow truck to Paint-a-Plow. We are grateful for the support of many community members and businesses who supported our Silent Auction. Many thanks to School Council for all their hard work in making this possible!
• Students celebrated Rare Chromosome Day, complete with educational activities about the organization Unique, a dance party and bubbles galore!
• The various sports teams wrapped up their seasons. The Intermediate Boys brought home a pennant as Champions of the Three Pitch Tournament!
• Warminster Soccer continues and will be wrapping up the first week of August. This is such a blessing in our community and truly brings the whole town out to play. Thank you to the administration team for all their efforts in sustaining this program. It is 100% volunteer operated.
• The Grade 8s had a fantastic time on their whirlwind graduation trip to Toronto, enjoying Ripley’s Aquarium, the CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame and MORE. They had a jam-packed day filled with fun and great memories. Their graduation ceremony in June had lots of beautiful moments and we wish this group of students all the best as they transition to high school for Grade 9! We will miss them so much!
• The Warminster-Wide Garage Sale had beautiful weather and a great turnout. We were able to unload some of our stuff, while lemonade sales went through the roof!

In more school news, we wish to extend retirement wishes to Mrs. Teresa Novosky who was the heart of Warminster Elementary School. She worked at our school for 11 years in the office and we are so grateful for all she has done to make our school a home for many students. We also wish to say happy retirement to Mr. Ligers and Mr. Flowers! Their many years at Warminster brought incredible moments for students, especially those who loved wrestling and softball. We wish them all the best in this new chapter of their lives!
