Hello from Coldwater!
After a chilly start to spring, Coldwater is starting to bustle again!
Below are the events that each organization has postered – I recommend that you check out their websites or their Facebook pages yourself as there may be changes or even additions to the information presented here.
Starting at 1 Mill Street
The Coldwater Mill Museum
and Artisan Boutique
Weekly in August, these local musical acts will be visiting the Musical Barn.

Come out and enjoy the vibe and support local musicians.
And – if you haven’t been to the Mill just to look around, you are missing a real gem. Check it out!
Coldwater Canadian Heritage Museum
Come and enjoy the Print Shop Open House on weekends during the summer. Ask questions, print something, take it home.
Blacksmith Shop Open House is open by chance and by appointment — Stop by and meet the Master Smith who will demonstrate how essential the Blacksmith was in homestead living, long before there were stores nearby.
This is also another really interesting and fun place to spend a family afternoon. There is a lot to see!
The Coldwater Village BIA,
as usual, is spearheading some summer events.
June 6, join the Town Garage Sale. As well as individual homes, there will be service clubs, special interest groups and churches participating in this massive sale. There will be many treasures, plus food offerings.
The Annual Studio Tour
June 20 and 21
This is an opportunity to explore our arts community by visiting historic venues and working studios to meet over 30 talented artists and craftspeople
The Magical world of Faeries
August 15 from 4-9 p.m.
Enjoy fairy – related activities and tour the Fairy Garden.
A fun, family friendly event.
The Steampunk Festival
August 29
This is a not-to-be-missed event with bands, vendors, costume competitions, and all manor of Steampunk and Oddities. Family friendly but a really fun cosplay opportunity.
Coldwater Fall Fair
September 25
Who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned Fall Fair? Coldwater’s Fair has it all – a parade, food vendors, Midway, agricultural shows, and a display of just about anything you can think of. Keep watching for the details!
Coldwater Community Centre
The full schedule for the Coldwater Community Centre is on the Township of Severn website. This is where you can get information about programs and find out how to register.
A quick glance at the calendar shows opportunities to learn pickleball, play Ball Hockey, take a Yoga course and find out about Early On.
Of note is a Day Camp running from 7-5:30 p.m., beginning on June 29. to August 28, Monday to Friday except on holidays.

Coldwater Legion
Coldwater Legion has a large lineup of Euchre, Shuffleboard and Yoga on their calendar for the summer. Keep up to date on the Facebook page.
Did you know that the Royal Canadian Legion is100 in 2026? This is a good year to join the legion as membership is free for new members to celebrate the birthday!
There is also a huge project for crocheters and knitters. There is a large installation of hand-crafted poppies currently being created. If you want to join in, you can get the pattern at the Legion.
Coldwater and Eady UC
Even if you’re not a churchgoer, you can appreciate a good concert!
June 07, 2026, 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Coldwater United Church
Be transported back to the 1960s with ‘SPRING BREAK’! The greatest era of music will be performed at the Coldwater United Church by the Junior & Senior Choirs and Friends. The musicians have been hard at work and there will be a surprises. Good Will Offering – Cash Only.
Coldwater United Church also hosts free lunch every Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
This is open to everyone in the community. While the meals are typically free or offered by free-will donation, you can find weekly menu updates on the Coldwater United Church website.
You can also participate by helping with the Food Bank. Contact the church for information.
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church
In addition to Sunday services, you can participate by helping in the Caring Closet, a free clothing distribution service. What you see in the closet is just a small part of the work in sorting, categorizing and displaying the generously donated items. Many hands make light work!
Severn Township Public Library
The picturesque library is gearing up for its annual Summer Reading Program.
This program is free and open to all children but must be registered. Watch the Library website and Facebook page for the opening of registration.
Did you know that the library has free passes for the Royal Ontario Museum, The Toronto Zoo, the Maclaren Art Centre and the Ontario Provincial Parks? Membership has its benefits!
They also have items to borrow such as fishing rods, a metal detector, a telescope and a Karaoke machine! These are just a few of the many items in the “Try Before You Buy” collection.
Check out the Severn Library. If you pay taxes in Severn or Oro-Medonte, we are your library and membership is free.
This is a long list of things – because Coldwater is a busy place. Take some more relaxing time and wander the lovely downtown. Enjoy coffee or a meal at one of our eight eating establishments!
